These marbles are a perfect way to illustrate size and scale of the solar system. To accurately display the relative distances between the solar system bodies, put Earth on one end of your pillow. Place the Moon on the other end, or 26 inches (66 centimeters) away. Mars will be between 317 and 2,269 feet (96 and 691 meters) away, depending on where the planets are in their orbit. That's a football field to almost half a mile away.
